Planning for our future, and the future of our loved ones, is
naturally done by some. When a health setback or death
occurs, our fiduciaries implement our plan using the the
documents we have prepared for them.
-
- Others
of us avoid planning, so that our loved ones are in crisis at a
health setback or death.
-
- Our
loved ones need help to effectively advocate for us during an
illness, and to effectively protect our property and income from
predators. After a death, our loved ones need help to
collect assets, pay claims, determine tax liability, and
transmit the wealth remaining to those entitled by the plan (or
if no plan, by operation of law).
-
- The small boutique elder law practice of Cynthia
L. Barrett helps those of you who are drawn to planning, and
helps those fiduciaries (trustees, agents, personal
representative, executors) who are implementing plans.
-
- Ms.
Barrett will take a limited number of crisis cases, where the
plan has gone awry or was never done at all. In the crisis
situation, Ms. Barrett usually represents court-appointed
fiduciaries (conservatorships, elder abuse, guardianships).

- Cynthia
